As the CONNECT project grows in use and participation, what can be learned from other successful open source communities? How do other communities structure their processes, tools and governance to make the most of every resource available? How can the CONNECT community create a "virtuous circle" of innovation and evolution on a pace and scale necessary to make a difference? This session will address these questions and will provide perspective on what made projects like Apache, Mozilla and others successful as well as what pitfalls to avoid. Attendees will also hear how the lessons learned and ideas generated from these successful open source projects might map to the CONNECT project and to healthcare IT in general.
